DOMO - 19th Biennial of Sardinian Artisanal Handicraft - 2011 Gold Compass Award


 

 

 

Wanting to reward "the critical reinterpretation of the role of crafts in a specific context, the international jury of the 2011 DOMO - XXII Compasso d'Oro ADI gave one of the two gold compass awards to Ilisso and the other they dedicated to all of the designers which had participated.
The Biennale of Sardinian handicraft involves more than 30 designers and 60 laboratories, and presents 250 objects created using all of the traditional techniques of the island. The title chosen for the exhibition, "Domo", pays tribute to the symbolic epicenter of the culture of Sardinia: the home.

Italo Antico: collier MUCCADORE

The jewel is inspired by the handkerchief, muccadore, present in the traditional women's dress of Sardinia.
Folded, it frames the face and gathers the locks of hair under the chin.
From a gold foil sculptural development of all the elements that make up the necklace and earrings.
The sculptural processing of the main and side elements are by the designer.
The execution and finishing are by the craftsman.
